Rhyolite Magma Dynamics

Rhyolite Magma Dynamics is another projecting I am working on with colleagues at the University of Wisconsin. The rhyolite volcanoes at Laguna del Maule, Chile, are exhibiting extraordinarily rapid uplift, likely due to the addition of significant quantities of magma into the crust at shallow depths.

The objective is to build a new understanding of the dynamic processes that create large rhyolitic magma systems and drive them into states of unrest and potential eruption.
